After Installing WordPress on your blog you become curious and think that what do to first or in which manner i will do settings of my blog.
These are Important things step by step which you must do after installing WordPress to give solid base to your blog.?So let’s begin..
1: Choose Theme:
After installing WordPress first & the foremost thing is to choose your blog theme. you can either choose free or Premium theme on the basis of your budget but if you purchase free theme them i recommend to get it only from Official WordPress Website.
You can Upload your wordpress theme by going through following steps-
Go to Appearance> Themes> Install Themes> Upload> Choose File> Install Now then Activate Your Theme
2: Security:
Security is very essential part of your WordPress Blog. You should change your admin password & make a strong one?[ letter + Symbol + Numbers ]?=?[ A-Z, a-z + !@#$%^&* + 0 , 1-9 ]
Go to Users > Your Profile > ?Scroll to end here you can choose New Password for your blog.
3: Settings:
?Now you need to change settings of your blog. As these settings will become base for your blog so pay attentions here and follow them step by step
(a) General : Go to general settings of your blog here you should change your site title, edit you blog tagline, your blog url and also change timezone.
(b) Writing : Your next step is on Writing Section. Go to Writing scroll to last here you will have to add Good list of pinging services under update services section. You can know more about WordPress Update Services at WordPress Update Services.
Short Note: By adding Ping List to your blog then whenever you publish a post then all these update services will be notified about you blog post. This will help you to get Good Search Engine Visibility of your blog as well as some free traffic
(c) Discussion:??As we told you that we are discussing here?only important things to do after installing wordpress. so your next step is on Discussion Settings. Here make sure to check the following settings given in below screenshot.
d) Media Settings :?Here you can set default Thumbnail Size for the images on you
blog. It is always recommended to keep thumbnail size below 180 otherwise it will looks images not thumbnails. well mine is 150/150 which is default.
e) Privacy Settings:?In Privacy Settings make sure to check your blog is visible to everyone and if you want to make your blog private and don’t want to make it visible to anyone except you then you can choose second option.
(f) Permalinks:?Here comes another most important settings of your blog.?Permalink Structure means how your blog post url will look like mine is :?/%postname%/%post_id%/ which make my post url like :?http://www.techtipsworld.com/what-important-things-to-do-after-installing-wordpress/100/
Well friends there is lots of dicussions on choosing best blog permalinks structure among many search engine experts. but i will tell you the main juice that is ?
